In 2016, the Presidential Postdoctoral Fellows program was established at Caltech to increase the number of faculty from backgrounds historically underrepresented in STEM fields by providing support for a more diverse and inclusive postdoctoral community at Caltech. Fellows receive stipends, mentoring and services that build community and foster professional development.
The Presidential Postdoctoral Fellows program builds and expands on the highly successful California Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP). This program was a partnership among Caltech, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Stanford University.
Fellows will receive up to $90,000 in funding ($45,000/year for two years). Please note that funding includes institute benefit charges. The remainder of their funding is to be supplied by some combination of advisor support and/or external fellowships.
Applicants working in nanoscience are eligible for the Kavli-Caltech Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship. This fellowship provides full salary support ($90,000/year, includes institute benefits charges) for two years. Funding for this fellowship has been generously provided by the Kavli Foundation.
