In 2020, the Presidential Postdoctoral Fellows program was established at Caltech to increase the number of historically underrepresented minority faculty in STEM fields by providing support for a more diverse and inclusive postdoctoral community at Caltech. Fellows receive stipends, mentoring and services that build community and foster professional development.
The Presidential Postdoctoral Fellows program builds and expands on the highly successful California Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP). This program was a partnership among Caltech, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Stanford University.
Fellows will receive up to $80,000 in funding ($40,000/year for two years). The remainder of their funding is to be supplied by some combination of advisor support and/or external fellowships.
